Waking Night Support Worker- Learning Disability and Autism

Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Salary: £12.00 per hour + Benefits, Paid Induction, Overtime pay above 36 contracted hours
Hours:  18 hours per week (2 nights per week including weekend -part time), 36 hours per week (4 nights per week including weekend- full time )
Shift Patterns:  9:45 pm – 7:15 am, Monday to Sunday

As a waking night support worker your contribution will be invaluable. You’ll work as a team to provide support for people who have Autism and Learning Disabilities; As a waking night support worker, you will be part of an experienced staff team working within a busy and vibrant service where no two nights are the same.
Waking Night Support worker duties include:

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of while staying awake.
Being vigilant at all times as anything can happen any time while you are on shift.
Ensuring the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality.

Who will you be supporting?
ABCD* Has his own mobility car and enjoys getting out as much as possible. He attends the theatre regularly and enjoys concerts, music, and dancing. He is fluent in Italian and English and enjoys a good party.
EFGH* is one of cheekiest people we support. He has a great sense of humour and a cheeky laugh to go with it and can be very affectionate asking for head massages and scratches, he loves sensory interaction.
IJKL* Likes to refer to his bungalow as his NBC studio, he is the chief presenter, and some staff have their roles as writers and news readers. He enjoys ordering take away and going on holidays with our colleagues!
MNOP* Is a very independent person who leads a busy lifestyle. He is very spiritual and enjoys regular sessions of Pilates and Yoga. He is a very sociable individual and is often making plans with his neighbours and planning events with staff.
QRST* loves being out and about and goes out almost every day. He has regular activity days where he enjoys going to the cinema, swimming, and on the odd occasion trampolining. He enjoys music, having a good boogie! He loves eating out and having stories read to him.
WXYZ* is a very quiet individual who always likes peace and quiet. He spends his days in his room watching the birds in his garden. He lives a very simple, tranquil life.

Training and Development
At SeeAbility, we fully support our Support Workers training and development. You will start with an extensive Induction programme and throughout your probationary period you will be equipped with face-to-face training, e-learning and guidance to support you whilst in your new role.
