Location: Horton, NN7

Start Date: September 2026

Hours: 2 days per week initially, with the opportunity to progress to a full-time position as the provision grows.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.

We are excited to be supporting a brand-new specialist education provision in Northamptonshire in September 2026 and are looking for a passionate, adaptable, and committed Instructor/Cover Supervisor to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an exciting new setting from the very beginning, helping to shape a nurturing learning environment for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

Deliver engaging lessons in Primary English and Mathematics.
Supervise learning across a range of subjects when required.
Build positive relationships with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
Promote high expectations, engagement, and achievement.
Work collaboratively with the leadership team to develop an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Contribute to the growth and development of the new provision.
The role will begin on a 2-day-per-week basis, with the expectation of increasing to full-time as pupil numbers expand.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
Can confidently teach Primary English and Mathematics.
Has excellent classroom management skills and can build strong, trusting relationships.
Is resilient, patient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners.
Is flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to individual learning needs.
Holds relevant qualifications or has equivalent experience working in education.
Desirable

Experience within an Alternative Provision, PRU, or specialist setting.
Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Instructor, Cover Supervisor, or teaching experience.
Understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
A current First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
