The Oakleaf Group is a leading provider of specialist brain injury rehabilitation services for male adults. The Oakleaf Group have an excellent reputation in this field and has CQC rated “outstanding” services. The Oakleaf Group currently operates across 4 sites in Northamptonshire, including assessment and active rehabilitation, community rehabilitation houses and long stay/maintenance placements. We have a comprehensive team of clinical and therapy staff ensuring the rehabilitation is individualised and appropriate to the needs of each resident.
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy team. You would be part of a large, dynamic and supportive interdisciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, Nursing and Medical staff.
The successful applicant should have a minimum of 1-2 years experience in working with neurological patients. They will have completed rotations in neurology and orthopaedics and be confident to work autonomously with an independent caseload. Well-developed communication skills will be important. Experience in working with challenging behaviour would also be desirable. Supervision and support will be available from the Lead Physiotherapist. HCPC registration is essential.
The post will involve working as part of the Physiotherapy service covering the rehabilitation facility at the main Oakleaf site in Hartwell, Northamptonshire, as well as offering support to a small number of our other sites in the local area.
The post holder will be expected to manage a caseload of residents with brain injury and in conjunction with other members of the interdisciplinary team, form comprehensive assessment of need and develop goal focused Physiotherapy rehabilitation intervention plans. The post holder will be expected to provide direct Physiotherapy intervention, as well as give specialist advice on issues related to Physiotherapy, such as manual handling, falls management, spasticity management, respiratory care etc.
