Description:

Mencap NI Youth are recruiting a number of passionate and proactive full time Youth Workers for delivery our HEROES+ project across the Greater Belfast area.
HEROES+ is an exciting new project for young people aged 14-24 with a learning disability/additional need. HEROES+ will provide innovative, transformative programmes that will inspire participants to develop their potential and contribute to building a cohesive society.
You will be responsible for developing, organising and delivering tailored co-produced programmes to meet the needs and goals of young people in a project delivery area, and will work co-operatively with the Programme Manager and youth work team to achieve project targets and deliver the best possible outcomes for participants.
Skills/Experience required:
Experience in delivery of youth work programmes and interventions
Confidence and determination to deliver agreed targets
Awareness of & enthusiasm for inclusive practices.
Ability to work with young people to organise an appropriate programme of activities that delivers the project specific outcomes.
An understanding of barriers facing young people with learning disabilities to engage in youth provision.
Hs completed or working towards the completion of relevant degrees in youth work, community work/development, education or equivalent or
Has a minimum of 3 years experience in leading and delivering youth/community based projects and an OCN Level 2/3 in Youth Work or equivalent.
