What we need from you

At least 6 months of UK-based experience working in a residential children’s home (within the last 2 years)

Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour, autism, learning disabilities, or mental health needs

Current PVG for working with children (or willingness to obtain one)

Trauma-informed, person-centred approach and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations

A passion for helping young people thrive, and a commitment to learning and development

Restraint/breakaway training (e.g., Level 3/4) is highly desirable – or willingness to complete it via our in-house training

What you’ll be doing

Providing 1:1 emotional and practical support to children and young people in residential care

Supporting them to build independence, emotional regulation, and resilience

Following individual support plans, promoting positive behaviour, and managing risk

Encouraging engagement in routines and community activities

Working closely with families and professionals under GIRFEC and SHANARRI principles

Keeping accurate records and ensuring the highest safeguarding standards

Please note

Only candidates with recent residential childcare experience will be considered

We do not offer visa sponsorship – you must have the right to work in the UK

Overseas experience cannot be considered – UK-based experience is essential

Pay rates vary by shift type – bank holiday rates reflect the upper end
