About the Role
At Affinity Partnerships, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of the challenges they face.
We are currently recruiting Youth Mentors to support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Gloucester (GL3). Working within schools and alternative education settings, you will provide the guidance, encouragement, and consistency that many young people need to succeed both academically and personally.
Some young people need more than academic support. They need a positive role model, someone who listens, understands, and believes in their potential. As a Youth Mentor, you will have the opportunity to be that person.

The Role
As a Youth Mentor, you will:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students
Build positive and trusting relationships with young people
Support students with SEMH, SEN, and behavioural needs
Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and personal development
Encourage engagement with education and learning
Help students develop confidence, social skills, and independence
Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and support staff
Act as a positive, consistent, and reliable role model

Strong communicators with excellent interpersonal skills
Confident working with challenging behaviour when required
Adaptable and proactive in their approach
Committed to safeguarding and promoting children's welfarePrevious experience is desirable but not essential.
