Youth Engagement Worker
Location: Lambeth, London
Pay Rate: £22.43 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Temporary
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Youth Engagement Worker to join a Children’s Services team in Lambeth. This is an excellent opportunity to support children and young people through early intervention, helping to reduce vulnerabilities and prevent offending behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
*
Build positive, trusted relationships with children, young people and families.
*
Deliver face-to-face outreach, activities and targeted interventions.
*
Support young people at risk of offending, exploitation, homelessness or family breakdown.
*
Help young people access education, training, leisure activities and wider support.
*
Identify needs and make appropriate referrals to services including Early Help, Education and CAMHS.
*
Work closely with Youth Justice Services and partner agencies to keep young people safe and reduce offending.
*
Support reparation and restorative justice projects.
*
Act as an Appropriate Adult under PACE when required.
*
Monitor outcomes and contribute to team meetings, briefings and service development.
Requirements
*
Experience working with children, young people or families.
*
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
*
Understanding of safeguarding, early intervention and youth offending.
*
Ability to engage young people from diverse backgrounds.
*
Flexible approach to evening and weekend work.
*
Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Mandatory: Must have a UK Passport or a Full Right to Work in the UK
