Description:
BDS currently have exciting opportunities for Youth Development Workers to join a well-established Housing Association in the Truro and in the St Austell area.
The main focus of this role will be to work across the Truro and St Austell area supporting vulnerable service users based in a supported accommodation service for young people aged 16–25.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and review support and action plans tailored to individual goals.
* Update and manage risk assessments and risk management plans.
* Support young people with tenancy and housing management.
* Assist with benefits applications (e.g., Universal Credit, PIP, Housing Benefit).
* Explore and support pathways into education, training, and employment.
* Collaborate with external agencies (mental health, domestic violence services, landlords, etc.).
The ideal candidate will have:
* A good understanding of young people’s needs, safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues.
* An understanding of support needs and support planning.
* An understanding risk assessing and risk management.
Location; Positions available in St Austell and Truro
Working Pattern; Monday- Friday – shift pattern working between the hours of 8am and 8pm
Expected Length of Contract: temp ongoing – potential to go perm for the right person
Pay Rate; £15.34 PAYE £19.76 Umbrella
