Year 6 Intervention Teacher | SATs Support

West Ealing, West London | Full-time | Long-term

Start date: January 2027
Salary: Inner London pay scale, dependent on experience

A primary school in West Ealing is looking for a confident and experienced Year 6 Intervention Teacher to join its team from January 2027 on a full-time, long-term basis, supporting pupils in the lead-up to their KS2 SATs.

This role is focused on delivering targeted interventions to Year 6 pupils, helping them strengthen their understanding of key concepts in English and maths, build confidence and prepare for their end-of-KS2 assessments.

The school is looking for a teacher with a strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs requirements, who can identify gaps in learning and deliver focused sessions to help pupils make progress. You'll work closely with the Year 6 teaching team to ensure interventions are tailored to pupils' needs and complement their classroom learning.

The Role

You'll be responsible for delivering targeted interventions to Year 6 pupils, focusing on the key skills and knowledge needed for SATs.

Responsibilities include:

Delivering small-group and targeted interventions across Year 6.
Supporting pupils with SATs preparation in English and maths.
Identifying gaps in learning and adapting sessions to address specific needs.
Reinforcing key curriculum concepts, including reading comprehension, grammar, arithmetic and reasoning.
Monitoring pupil progress and adapting interventions accordingly.
Building pupils' confidence and helping them develop effective learning strategies.
Working alongside Year 6 teachers to coordinate support and share progress.
Helping pupils prepare for assessments while maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment.About the School

The school is looking for a qualified teacher with a strong understanding of KS2 and experience supporting pupils in preparation for SATs.

You'll need:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and KS2 SATs.
Experience teaching upper KS2, ideally Year 6.
Confidence delivering targeted interventions in English and maths.
The ability to identify gaps in learning and adapt teaching accordingly.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
