About the Role

Bring your classroom expertise to a role with experienced support and resources already in place. Teach Now is seeking a Year 3 Teacher for a primary school in Barnet, teaching a capable class of seven- and eight-year-olds. An experienced Teaching Assistant who knows the cohort well delivers targeted interventions, with additional classroom support helping you meet different learning needs.

English and maths planning, core resources and established schemes are available, supported by subject leaders. You will have up to three hours of planning, preparation and assessment time, including an additional hour for intervention work. Colleagues across the wider school network share resources and plan collaboratively, while respecting your classroom independence.

This opportunity suits an organised Key Stage 2 teacher who combines clear boundaries with warmth and confidently adapts teaching to different starting points. With opportunities to develop subject leadership experience and access professional development across the school network, there is room to grow alongside your pupils.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and teach engaging Year 3 lessons, adapting existing resources to meet pupils needs.

Differentiate learning and assessment, including for pupils working below age-related expectations.

Establish clear routines, consistent expectations and a calm, welcoming classroom.

Work closely with support staff to coordinate targeted interventions.

Maintain organised assessment records and pupils work, communicating progress clearly with families, colleagues and leaders.

Requirements

QTS recognised in England and relevant primary teaching experience, including recent Key Stage 2 experience.

Confidence planning, teaching and assessing across a range of abilities.

Strong organisation, positive behaviour management and a warm, consistent approach.

The ability to take ownership of classroom practice, collaborate with colleagues and seek guidance when needed.

A sound understanding of safeguarding, the right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo enhanced DBS and other relevant checks.
