Year 2 Primary Teacher
Location: Skelmersdale
Pay: £150 to £230 per day depending on experience
Start: ASAP
Contract: Full time, long term
A primary school in Skelmersdale needs a Year 2 teacher. It is an end of key stage year group, so the school want someone who is comfortable with the assessment side and will not need hand holding through it.
The role
Full class responsibility for Year 2, planning, teaching and assessment
Preparing pupils for the end of Key Stage 1 phonics and assessment expectations
Moderating writing with the rest of the key stage team
Directing a teaching assistant who works with the class most of the week
Keeping parents informed at the usual points in the year
What the school need
QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Key Stage 1 experience, ideally including Year 2
Confident with phonics and early reading
Accurate assessment judgements you can evidence
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
