About the Role
This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a key part in the day-to-day warehouse and yard operations, ensuring stock is received, stored, picked, and loaded accurately and efficiently while supporting a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive and store goods accurately in the correct warehouse or yard locations.
* Prepare customer orders in line with sales requirements and load them onto vehicles.
* Sign for deliveries and report any damaged or broken stock.
* Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock control activities.
* Keep the warehouse and yard clean, organised, and safe.
* Carry out daily checks on forklifts and other handling equipment, ensuring they remain in safe working condition.
* Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
* Build positive relationships with customers at collection and returns points.
* Support stocktaking activities and work overtime when required.
Requirements / Skills
* Valid Forklift Licence.
* Good numeracy skills and attention to detail.
* Basic IT competency and accurate data entry skills.
* Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
* Previous warehouse or yard experience is advantageous.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Customer-focused with the ability to work independently when required.
