Job Title: Junior Timber Selector/Yard Operative
Reporting Line: Lead Timber Selector-Role: General stock/yard activities and selecting quality timber to suit customer order requirements to maximise yield and efficiency through practising LEAN methodology,while conforming to the companies mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
Job Description:

To ensure the health and safety oneself and other staff.
Receive timber deliveries; batch and consolidate customer orders; store timber stock in the correct locations and manner.
Stocking in processes.
To select the best timber to suit customer orders and EWT requirements.
To maintain accurate stock records by engaging disciplined stock processes.
To engage the practices of LEAN to create a pull in the value stream while focusing continuous improvement.
To communicate to the relevant people the necessary information as required.
Timber kilning duties of timber from fresh saws, to air dried to kilned dried.
Process waste wood from various departments.
Timber fired boiler duties.
Maintain stock bays in terms of neatness and stock count.
To serve customers and processing customer's orders according to their needs and lead times.
To build and maintain excellent customer relationships in line with our sales strategy

To strive to yield to best margin through careful timber selection.
To identify SLOB stock to effect stock turnover.
To care and maintain EWT facilities & equipment (MHE & Other).
Ideal requirements:

Good work ethic with an eagerness to learn.
Effectively communicate at all levels of the organisation through instruction and reporting.
Awareness, Implementation, Engagement and adherence to Health and Safety in the workplace.
Ability to work under pressure and meet customer deadlines.
Self-motivated and Innovative.
Valid Driver's license.
Telehandler license (not essential)

Shift & Schedule:
Mon - Fri 07:45 - 17:00 (Shift starts at 08:00)Qualifications:
Non required (On-site development and training provided)Company benefits: 25 days holiday entitlement and Bank Holidays

Job Type: Full-time Salary: £23 500 plus -
depending on experience
