Wrap Around Care Support Staff

Location: Southwark, South London

Salary: £14.24–£15.00 per hour

Contract: Part-time, long-term temporary

Start date: 28 September 2026

A vibrant and community-focused primary school in Southwark is seeking caring and energetic Wrap Around Care Support Staff to join its extended-school provision.

The successful candidate will help provide a safe, engaging and welcoming environment for children attending the school’s breakfast and/or after-school club. This Wrap Around Care Support Staff role would suit someone who is creative, organised and confident working with children across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Responsibilities

• Supervising children before or after the main school day

• Preparing and leading age-appropriate games, crafts and recreational activities

• Encouraging children to socialise positively and participate in activities

• Supporting the safe collection and handover of pupils

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of drinks and light snacks

• Following procedures relating to allergies, dietary requirements and hygiene

• Maintaining a calm, inclusive and well-organised environment

• Reporting safeguarding, medical or behavioural concerns appropriately

• Helping to set up and tidy away resources

Requirements

• A warm, patient and enthusiastic approach

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, club or childcare setting

• Good behaviour-management and communication skills

• The ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

• Reliability and the flexibility to work around the school day

• An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

• Paediatric first aid or a relevant childcare qualification would be advantageous

• An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one
