Workshop Winder
Salary: £36,500 - £40,500 + overtime (DOE)
Shift: Monday to Friday (39 hours)
Location: West Brom, West Midlands

A major client is seeking an experienced Workshop Winder to join a busy engineering workshop in West Bromwich. This is a hands-on role focused on the testing, repair and rewinding of AC/DC electrical motors, delivering high-quality work to customer timescales.
The role includes AC/DC motor winding and rewinds, armature rewinding, hand winding, connection and testing of windings, undercutting (commutator insulation), and drop testing/bar-to-bar testing to identify faults. You may work on motors up to 20 tonnes, while maintaining workshop standards and following all H&S procedures.
Non-Negotiable Requirements of Workshop Winder:
Hands-on motor winding/rewinding experience (AC/DC).
Essential requirements of Workshop Winder:
Workshop/engineering background
strong practical skillset
confidence with testing and winding principles.
Desirable Requirements of Workshop Winder:
Formal winding qualification/training (or strong informal training with core principles).
