Workshop Engineer

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £37,500 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

The Opportunity

An established and market-leading manufacturer is seeking a Workshop Engineer to join its busy service and repair team based in St Albans. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment within a workshop environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring equipment is returned to customers to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on a range of equipment.

* Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs within the workshop.

* Complete inspections, testing, and quality checks before equipment is returned to customers.

* Accurately record work completed and maintain service documentation.

* Ensure workshop tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and organised.

* Adhere to all company health and safety procedures.

* Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve service and repair targets.

* Deliver high standards of workmanship and customer service.

Requirements

* Previous experience in a workshop engineering, service engineering, maintenance engineering, or technician role.

* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

* Mechanical aptitude with the ability to repair and maintain equipment efficiently.

* Basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Good organisational and communication skills.

* A proactive and positive approach to problem solving.
