Description:

This role is ideal for a practical, safety-conscious technician who enjoys preparing equipment, supporting testing activities, and helping others learn real-world repair techniques to a high standard.

Job Responsibilities

Manage stock control and inventory, including placing orders and organising product storage.
Coordinate deliveries and ensure materials are received, stored correctly, and ready for training and testing activities.
Prepare vehicles and testing panels for use by Application Engineers.
Support new product testing activities, including paint preparation, vehicle masking, paint application, clearcoat defect removal, and polishing.
Assist in delivering training on vehicle repair solutions to channel partners, end user customers (bodyshops), and internal sales teams.
Monitor and control chemicals on site, including completing COSHH assessments and maintaining safe handling practices.
Validate and update safe systems of work for equipment such as sanders, grinders, and other workshop tools.
Carry out general facilities management duties, including welcoming visitors and setting up meeting rooms before and after training events.
Support workshop readiness by ensuring work areas are prepared, tidy, and suitable for training sessions.
Maintain a can-do attitude and work effectively with a wide range of people and learning styles.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Practical, hands-on experience in vehicle repair or a closely related automotive trade.
Strong understanding of workshop processes used in vehicle preparation and finishing.
Experience with paint preparation and application processes, including masking, clearcoat work, defect removal, and polishing.
Knowledge of safe working practices in a workshop environment, including COSHH awareness and chemical handling.
Ability to complete and maintain COSHH documentation and support safe systems of work for workshop equipment.
Basic to intermediate IT skills to support day-to-day administration and record keeping.
Experience preparing vehicles and panels for testing or training purposes.
Training experience is desirable, including the ability to support delivery of practical sessions.
Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.
Good communication skills and the confidence to work with customers, partners, and internal teams.
