Alecto Recruitment is hiring on behalf of a well-established, family-run plant hire business with a strong reputation across the UK plant hire industry. Based in Tamworth, they're looking for a skilled Plant Engineer to join their workshop team and keep their fleet of excavators, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment, running at its best.

Inspecting, servicing, and maintaining plant machinery including excavators and telehandlers
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
Carrying out preventative maintenance to cut downtime and boost reliability
Testing and commissioning machinery after repairs or servicing
Working alongside the operations team to prioritise and schedule repairs
Keeping accurate records - parts used, time taken, work completed
Helping keep the workshop clean, organised, and safety-compliantIs this you?
NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent)
Proven experience maintaining and repairing plant machinery - ideally from plant hire or construction
Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills
Comfortable reading technical manuals and schematics
Sharp attention to detail and solid organisational skills
A proactive, safety-conscious mindset
Confident working independently or as part of a team, with clear communication for liaising with colleagues and suppliersWhat happens next
