Workshop Operative
Location: Bishop’s Stortford
Salary: £29,000 (Plus monthly bonus after probation period)
Hours: 8:30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday

RecruitAbility are looking for a practical, hands-on Workshop Operative to join a well-established company near Bishop’s Stortford.
If you enjoy working with your hands, have some practical experience and are willing to learn, we’d love to hear from you. This role could suit someone with workshop, assembly, production or other hands-on experience. You do not need an electronics qualification or previous experience as a technician.
Full training will be provided, including soldering and product testing, so attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are just as important as your previous experience.
What you’ll be doing
Assembling and working on electrical and electronic products
Testing products and identifying basic faults
Carrying out simple repairs and adjustments
Using hand tools, testing equipment and soldering equipment, with full training provided
Following straightforward drawings and instructions
Completing basic paperwork and working with the wider workshop team
Full training will be given. What we’re looking for
Comfortable using basic hand tools
Good attention to detail
Willingness to learn and develop
A reliable, practical and positive approach
Driving licence and your own transport are essential due to the location
