Workshop Operative
Salary: £12.74 per hour
Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Location: Bishop's Stortford
Hours: 40 hours per week + overtime available at an enhanced rate
Prime Appointments are currently recruiting for a Workshop Operative to join a busy engineering environment based near Bishop's Stortford. This is a hands-on opportunity suited to someone with a background in metalwork, fabrication or general workshop environments. The successful candidate will be working with metal components and equipment, carrying out assembly, disassembly, cutting and general workshop duties.
Key Responsibilities
Assembling and dismantling metal components and equipment
Cutting and preparing metal to required specifications
Using hand tools and power tools safely
Assisting with general workshop and engineering tasks
Measuring and checking components
Following drawings, instructions and specifications where required
Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe
Supporting experienced engineers and fabricators with day-to-day tasksThe Ideal Candidate
Previous workshop, metalwork, fabrication or engineering experience
An understanding of assembling and dismantling components
Experience using hand and/or power tools
The ability to measure, cut and prepare metal
A practical and hands-on approach to work
Good attention to detail
A full UK driving licence due to the rural location of the siteWhat's On Offer

40-hour working week
