Office Angels & Adecco are proud to be supporting our client who are looking for a hands-on Workshop Manager to lead a team of 12 people within the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, people-focused leader who enjoys being on the shop floor, working with their team, and ensuring production targets and customer expectations are consistently met.

You will be responsible for organising workloads, supporting your team, solving day-to-day production challenges, and making sure orders are completed on time and without shortages. Strong leadership and a flexible approach are essential. Overtime may be required, including working every other Saturday morning when business needs demand.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday, 8am till 5.30pm Plus 4 hours alternate Saturdays.

Key Duties

Lead and support a team of 12 employees within the department.
Work alongside the team to ensure jobs are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
Ensure all work is prepared, coated, inspected, and dispatched in line with production schedules.
Monitor daily performance and ensure delivery, quality, efficiency, and cost targets are achieved.
Carry out final quality inspections on products leaving the plant.
Identify and reduce waste within processes to improve efficiency and lower costs.
Maintain a safe, organised, and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of the operation, ensuring jobs are completed and shipped without shortages.
Work closely with the Production Manager to meet production targets, quality standards, and customer requirements.
Manage workflow against the production schedule and communicate any delays or issues as early as possible.
Monitor stock levels and liaise with Purchasing to ensure materials are available when needed.
Ensure production records, quality checks, paint test records, titration tests, oven logs, and other required documentation are completed accurately and on time.
Drive a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and high standards.
Support the implementation of new ideas, processes, and improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Ensure team members follow all company procedures, quality standards, and ISO9001 requirements.
Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Lead by example, maintaining a professional attitude and positive working environment.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience supervising or leading a production or manufacturing team.
A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and support others.
Ability to manage priorities and meet production deadlines.
Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
