The Role

As Workshop Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the workshop, coordinating engineers and fitters, prioritising jobs and ensuring concrete equipment is ready for customer delivery, hire or collection.

You will work closely with service, hire, parts and operations teams to keep work moving efficiently while maintaining strong standards of quality, safety and housekeeping.

Responsibilities

* Manage daily workshop workflow, planning and prioritising jobs.

* Supervise and support engineers, fitters, apprentices and workshop staff.

* Oversee servicing, inspections, repairs and preparation of concrete pumps, mixers, batching plants and associated heavy plant.

* Allocate work based on skills, availability and urgency.

* Diagnose technical issues and provide hands-on support where required.

* Monitor job progress, productivity and quality of completed work.

* Liaise with parts, hire, sales and service teams to resolve issues quickly.

* Maintain accurate service, repair, inspection and parts records.

* Ensure health and safety procedures and workshop standards are followed.

Requirements

* Experience as a Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, Service Manager, Lead Engineer or Senior Fitter.

* Strong mechanical background within heavy plant, HGV, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, hydraulics or similar.

* Good understanding of diagnostics, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance.

* Experience leading engineers, fitters or workshop teams.

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs.

* Confident communicator with good attention to detail.

* Full UK driving licence preferred.

Experience with concrete pumps, mixers, batching plants, cement silos, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, welding/fabrication, Sage, CRM systems, CSCS, forklift licences or plant tickets would be advantageous.
