Description:
Opus Vitae is recruiting for a Workshop Engineer to service, maintain and repair a varied range of forklifts, access equipment and telehandlers from the Oswestry depot. The position is focused on completing high-quality workshop repairs, supporting the wider engineering team and helping to minimise fleet and customer downtime. Occasional work may also be required on the company's HGV, van and car fleet.
Monday- Friday// 8:00am- 5:00pm
Key Responsibilities
* Service, maintain and repair forklifts, access equipment, telehandlers and other machinery in the workshop.
* Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs within timeframes and quality requirements.
* Carry out engineering and fabrication work, including welding where required and within individual competence.
* Follow all workshop health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised working environment.
* Coordinate parts requirements with the Service Controller for assigned jobs.
* Keep the Workshop Manager and colleagues informed of progress, delays and additional repair requirements.
* Support other workshop engineers and contribute to reducing equipment downtime.
Essential Experience and Skills
* Practical engineering experience in a repair, maintenance or workshop environment.
* Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
* Ability to interpret job requirements and complete work safely and accurately.
* Clear communication and the ability to work effectively within a workshop team.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Service and Repair or a closely related engineering qualification.
* Experience repairing forklifts or access equipment.
* Previous welding experience.
* Experience maintaining telehandlers, plant machinery or commercial vehicles.

* Commercial awareness and an understanding of operational and customer requirements.
* Confident, accountable and willing to take ownership of problems through to resolution.
