Job Title: Workshop Controller
Location: Cheltenham
Salary: Up to £37,000 + Bonus
Hours: 8:30am-6pm Monday to Friday, 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:30am – 12:30pm
Hawkfield Recruitment is working with a Main Dealership in the Cheltenham area who are looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Controller.
Our client is looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Workshop Controller to join our busy aftersales team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading from the centre of the workshop, coordinating technicians, supporting Service Advisors and ensuring every customer receives an exceptional experience.
What You’ll Do:
* Planning and controlling the daily workshop schedule
* Allocating work to technicians based on skill, availability and workshop priorities
* Monitoring repair progress and ensuring work is completed on time and to the highest standard
* Acting as the main point of communication between technicians, Service Advisors and customers
* Providing customers with regular progress updates and obtaining authority for additional work where required
* Preparing accurate labour and parts estimates and producing completed invoices
* Carrying out quality control checks before vehicles are returned to customers
* Maintaining accurate workshop documentation, job cards and vehicle history records
* Supporting departmental productivity while ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and health & safety procedures
What We’re Looking For:
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Senior Service Advisor, Workshop Supervisor or similar role within an automotive aftersales environment
* Strong understanding of workshop operations, vehicle repair processes and customer service standards
