Workshop Assembler (Electro/Mechanical)

Salary: £30,000 basic + bonus
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1-hour lunch)

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation within the equipment manufacturing sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Electro/Mechanical Assembler to join a high-performing workshop team, where quality, precision, and craftsmanship are key.

You'll play a vital role in assembling and testing a range of specialist equipment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality products across the UK market.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble a variety of electro/mechanical equipment from start to finish
Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings accurately (training provided where needed)
Safely use hand and power tools to complete builds
Test and adjust assembled products to ensure full functionality
Complete production and quality documentation accurately
Maintain high standards of health & safety and workshop organisation
Report faults or discrepancies to the Workshop Supervisor
Work collaboratively to meet production targets and deadlines
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in ongoing training to develop technical skills

About You

✔ Skills & Abilities

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity
Well-organised with the ability to follow structured processes
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Flexible and adaptable approach to workload
Familiar with testing and inspection processes
Good record-keeping skills
Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks

✔ Experience

Previous experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly
Confident using hand tools and power tools
Experience using basic electrical testing equipment (e.g. multimeters)

✔ Qualifications

Essential:

Hands-on assembly experience (mechanical and/or electrical)
Ability to understand technical drawings
Competency with tools and basic testing equipmentDesirable:

Relevant qualification or apprenticeship in engineering
Background in manufacturing/production environments
Full UK driving licence
