Location: Coventry
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
Job Type: Full-time

We are looking for an experienced Working Foreman to join an established and growing civil engineering team, 2 years work in Coventry initially.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience within civils and groundworks, with the ability to lead a site team while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day works.

The Role

You will be responsible for overseeing groundworks and civil engineering activities on site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing daily site operations and allocating labour effectively.

Reading and working from drawings and specifications.

Ensuring works are completed to programme and required standards.

Liaising with site management, engineers and subcontractors.

Maintaining high standards of health and safety on site.

Carrying out quality checks and resolving issues as they arise.

Leading by example and being prepared to get hands-on when required.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

Extensive experience in civil engineering and groundworks.

Proven experience as a Foreman, Working Foreman, Site Supervisor or similar.

Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, concrete, foundations, utilities and associated civils.

The ability to read drawings and understand construction specifications.

Good leadership and communication skills.

A strong understanding of health & safety requirements.

A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work as part of a team.

A reliable and professional attitude.

This is a hands-on role, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable leading from the front and has a genuine understanding of groundworks and civil engineering gained through practical site experience.
