Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a fluent Welsh speaker to join Teaching Personnel working at a local Primary School in Bridgend. The ideal candidate will be very confident with the welsh language and able to engage and mentor basic Welsh speakers.
Teaching Personnel are working closely with the local council to support them in finding fluent Welsh speakers to work closely with learners who are being fast tracked through the welsh language. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school working with a range of aged learners from KS1 – 2. To work as a Teaching Assistant we do not require staff to hold a teaching assistant qualification however staff must have confidence with the primary curriculum, have good behaviour management skills and be able to build effective bonds quickly in class with both staff and students.
We are looking for someone that is able to commit to the role for the course of the academic year providing the school are happy with the performance and contracts are available for those performing well!

Role and responsibilities – guide the students through tasks set out by the teacher through the medium of welsh. Encourage the use of welsh language independently and with confidence. Ensure learners are on task and behaving well during the school day and monitor learners around the school and on break and lunch time to ensure they are safe. Help support the teacher with planning and preparing lesson and support them with general classroom duties and upkeep i.e., tidying the space, making displays etc.
