Are you a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for supporting children in their education? Do you enjoy using the Welsh language to help pupils learn, develop, and thrive in the classroom?

We are currently seeking a range of Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistants to join welcoming and supportive primary schools in Cardiff, with full-time, part-time, and day-to-day roles available for an immediate start as well as from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with learners of all ages, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development through the medium of Welsh in a nurturing and engaging classroom environment.

This role is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates, childcare practitioners, or individuals looking to begin a rewarding career in education—whether you’re looking for something long-term, part-time, or flexible to fit around your lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the class teacher with daily classroom activities through the medium of Welsh
• Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and learning activities
• Promoting Welsh language development through everyday interaction
• Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and communication skills
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

What Schools Are Looking For

• Fluent spoken and written Welsh

• A genuine passion for working with children and young people
• Previous experience in a school or childcare setting (desirable but not essential)
