Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who is confident communicating in Welsh? Academics is looking to hear from fluent Welsh speakers interested in supporting pupils across Welsh-medium primary schools in Newport and Ebbw Vale.
We work with local schools that regularly require additional classroom support, creating opportunities for Teaching Assistants who enjoy working with children and want the flexibility of supply work. Whether you can offer a few days a week or are looking for more consistent work, we'd love to hear from you!
Role as a Welsh Medium Teaching Assistant
Providing classroom support within Welsh-medium primary schools.
Assisting teachers with lesson activities and helping pupils stay engaged.
Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
Supporting pupils' confidence, communication and social development.
Helping create a welcoming and inclusive Welsh-language learning environment.
Building positive relationships with pupils and staff across different schools.
Who We're Looking For
Fluent Welsh speakers who are confident using Welsh throughout the school day.
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a school is essential.
Experience supporting primary-aged children.
Someone enthusiastic, dependable and comfortable adapting to different classrooms.
A supportive and encouraging approach to children's learning.
