About the Opportunity

The Bulk Inspection Services team provide a document and in-house surveillance service for the supply of large volume bulk materials and complex engineering equipment for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) Nuclear New Build projects.
A Welding Subject Matter Expert is required to work closely with Contractors and Engineering teams to review design packages prior to the start of manufacture and to provide specialist expertise to support Suppliers in meeting the requirements of the Technical Specifications.
There is a requirement to assist the implementation of HPC & SZC project sourcing strategies by conducting in-depth technical assessments of Supplier welding activities to confirm capabilities and identify any gaps that may require further Welding specialist support.
The Welding SME will also perform routine witnessing and surveillance of Supplier welding arrangements during manufacture prior to product release.
The SME is the go-to person for all welding related matters and provides support to the wider team on complex technical issues.
