Description:

On behalf of our client, a global leader in specialised automated welding, field joint coating and critical infrastructure solutions, we are looking to recruit a Welding Project Planner.
 
Reporting to the Business Planning Manager the Project Planner is responsible for developing and upholding project schedules for different projects, departments, and phases. They communicate with Project teams to create comprehensive baseline schedules for the company’s projects. In addition, the senior planner should supervise other project planners. By creating reporting systems and methods, they keep the business informed and present benchmarks or KPIs as necessary.
 
Role specific responsibilities

Comply with and maintain planning procedures, guidelines, and processes.
Create preliminary schedules for projects at the proposal phase
Develop and maintain integrated project schedules (P6 and other tools).
Develop and control the Master Baseline schedule covering all project phases.
Maintain live schedules, identify critical paths, float erosion, and clashes.
Manage schedule updates and change control with Project Delivery teams.
Create and implement different levels of project control documents 
Ensure resource allocation (labour, assets, equipment) aligns with project timelines.
Support Shipping and Mobilisation in terms of providing a forecast schedule of mobilization and ROS (Required on Site) 
Support the PQT / WPQT management with required planning and scheduling tasks 
Coordinate schedule interfaces across subcontractors, suppliers, logistics, site teams, workshop, supply chain, management, and clients.
Perform impact analysis related to delays, scope changes, resource constraints, or equipment readiness.
Develop and present mitigation and recovery plans.
Produce multi-level reporting tailored to different audiences (project teams, department leads, senior leadership, external clients).
Update and manage reporting models using advanced Excel.
Ensure data integrity, version control, and structured access across regional operations for all Planning Documents and systems 
Support integrations between TMS, planning tools, and reporting platforms (Excel, Power BI)Job Specific Education Required

GCSE in Math’s & English grade A-C /9-5 or Level 2/3 Certificate in relevant field with above 10 years of experience in a similar role or;
HNC/ HND certificate in in relevant field with above 5 years of experience in a similar role
Project Management Qualification is preferable
Accredited or Member of Project Management bodies  
Work Experience Required
A Demonstrable Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project planning position is essential
