Welding Engineer / Inspector – Fawley, Southampton
£38.50 per hour (outside IR35) + site-based + average 45-50hr working week + overtime + 12 month contract (rolling) + immediate start
Welding Engineer / Inspector responsibilities include:
* Provide independent inspection and quality control services relating to equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.
* Provide detailed reports following inspections & quality control.
* Equipment includes pressure / piping equipment and other mechanical items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.
* Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQRs.
* Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.
Welding Engineer / Inspector profile:
* An experienced Welding Engineer / Inspector with min 10yrs background as a Welding Engineer, inclusive of 5yrs experience in equipment inspections (NDT & material control)
* C&G Cert / or equivalent experience in Fabrication & Welding and/or HNC/BTEC in Engineering discipline.
* CSWIP 3.1/3.2PCN required
* PCN Liquid Penetrant Inspection Level II required
* Sound understanding of Materials, Welding and NDE techniques.
* Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection in high hazard industries / COMAH sites, Nuclear, Refineries or similar.
* Ability to work successfully in a team, providing guidance, support and training as and when necessary.
