Welder / Fabricator (MIG)
Location: York, YO61 1ERSalary: £13-£16.50, DOEContract: Full-time, permanent.Hours: Monday-Friday 7.30am – 4.30pm with additional hours available.Benefits: 33 days paid holiday, weekly pay, company pension scheme and overtime available!
Plowman Brothers Ltd is a family-run business just outside of York in Sutton on the Forest!
We specialize in the manufacture of livestock transportation equipment, water treatment and premium agricultural products. We also undertake bespoke fabrication projects across a wide range of sectors.
Our facility, which is all based on one site, houses modern equipment including, CNC laser and plasma profilers, press brake, lathe and milling equipment. As well as robotic and pulse synergic welders and a large commercial paint booth. We also carry out all our own electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic design, assembly and installation.
Welder / Fabricator (MIG) – The Role
We are looking for experienced Welder/Fabricators to join our workshop team!
We work with aluminium, plastics, mild, high strength, wear resistant and stainless steels on a daily basis to fabricate components & assemblies for the products and services we offer.
Responsibilities;
• Fabrication using jigs, bench work and or assembly/ fit out on larger projects.• Welding with mild/stainless/aluminium of various gauges• Working from detailed engineering drawings• Carry out repairs as well as production work• One offs and batch quantities
Welder / Fabricator (MIG) – What we need from you
Experience;
• Welding with the following materials; mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium using MIG• Good knowledge of fabrication techniques• Using hand and power tools• The ability to interpret engineering drawings• Working unsupervised and achieving a high standard of workmanship• Training will be provided for anyone who does not have experience working with aluminium and stainless steel.
