We're recruiting on behalf of an innovative engineering and manufacturing business with a reputation for delivering high-quality bespoke equipment to customers across a range of specialist industries.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join a skilled workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in producing precision work and enjoys working on varied, bespoke engineering projects rather than repetitive production-line manufacturing.
The Role
Working within a modern manufacturing facility, you'll be responsible for the fabrication and welding of bespoke equipment and components to exacting quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Welding and fabricating bespoke equipment and components from engineering drawings.
* Producing high-quality work to project specifications and deadlines.
* Carrying out repairs and modifications to existing equipment.
* Supporting prototype builds and dry-fit assemblies.
* Maintaining high workshop standards, including housekeeping and safe working practices.
* Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver complex engineering projects.
About You
We're looking for a motivated and skilled fabricator who enjoys solving engineering challenges and delivering quality workmanship.
You'll ideally have:
* Experience in MIG, TIG and MMA welding.
* Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
* The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Experience fabricating precision-engineered components.
* Experience using cutting, drilling and plasma equipment.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work overtime when required.
Desirable Skills
* Welding coding qualifications.
* NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) qualifications.
* Forklift licence.
* Marine engineering experience.
* Mechanical fitting experience.
