Epilepsy Support Worker - Cardiff - Weekends

Hours

Weekends - (Sat and Sun) - 8am to 4pm or 8am to 9pm

The individual we support is verbal and mobile, he requires two to one support due to seizures.

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to a young man who lives at home with his parents.

The role involves supporting him with daily activities, ensuring his safety and promoting well-being. Candidates with experience as a support worker or care assistant are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities

* Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing and mobility

* Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines

* Engage clients in social activities such as meals out, bowling, cinema, swimming and shopping

* Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment

* Drive his mobility car to appointments or outings, ensuring safe transportation

* Respond promptly to emergency situations using first aid skills when required

* Document care activities accurately and report any changes in condition to relevant healthcare professionals, this includes documenting seizures and mood.

Skills

* Experience as a support worker or care assistant

* Strong patient care skills with knowledge of epilepsy

* Proficient in medication administration and first aid procedures

* Excellent behaviour management abilities and compassionate communication skills

* Valid driving licence for transportation duties would be an advantage

* Reliable and organised with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

* Flexibility to adapt to different care needs and environments
