Water Sector Lead Design Engineer - TEMP - South East Region
Start Date: ASAP
End date: 6 months with possible extension
Hours per week: 40

Lead Design Engineer
*
* Undertake LDE role for Wastewater Infrastructure scheme solution identification, definition and outline design.
* To act as the first point of contact to have single point accountability and leadership for technical design matters for a number of projects within a Water Utilities Capital Programme within a defined geographical area.
* Co-ordinating the design team to deliver the required outputs under the design manager.
* Delivering on optimised projects to achieve all regulatory, statutory and internal outputs, deadlines and targets.
* Delivering successful technical solutions that provide optimal value for money on a capital and whole life cost basis.
* Complying with quality systems and processes so outcomes meet all standards.
Person Specification
*
* Educated to degree level
* Chartered Engineer or outstanding role specific experience
Required Experience
*
* Track record of success in leading the technical delivery of significant capital Projects at a senior level within the Water Industry.
* Has either significant experience in water infrastructure design, with a focus on trunk mains or wastewater infrastructure design, with focus on rising mains
* Understands the designer’s responsibilities under CDM.
* Has proven process improvement design and implementation capability.
* Has broad industry and business knowledge and experience in complex investment-type decisions.
* Ideally has consultant and client-side experience
