Description of the Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team in a varied technical role. This position offers the opportunity to be valued in a smaller yet rapidly growing company while working across multiple projects for various clients. The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting our Project Management Team by providing specialist clean water knowledge, troubleshooting network issues, and delivering key project objectives.

About You:

We are looking for someone able to demonstrate proficiency in analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and effective problem-solving techniques. Excel in fostering positive and productive working relationships with both colleagues and clients. Someone who employs logical reasoning and adeptness in mathematical and engineering-based solutions to tackle complex challenges effectively.

Experience and Accomplishments:

Essential:

* Minimum of 5 years of industry experience or in a similar transferable role.

* Understanding of distribution and trunk main network operating principles.

* Proficiency in hydraulic analysis using modeling software.

* Degree level education or equivalent qualification.

* Experience working within a project life cycle.

* Proficient use of Office365 and GIS.

Desired:

* Knowledge of district metered area design and optimisation.

* Practical hands-on industry or utility sector knowledge.

Role and Responsibilities:

* Develop and advocate for innovative pressure and flow management strategies, supporting asset management schemes with comprehensive cost-benefit analysis for client consideration.

* Conduct thorough analysis of available data sources to generate concise summaries, identify areas for further investigation, and propose effective solutions.

* Utilise GIS for clean water network mapping and tracing, accurately identifying assets, mains, district metered areas, permit-to-work information, and assessing customer impact.

* Identify and address anomalies within GIS, employing logical problem-solving to design asset management solutions.

* Take charge of analysing logged data and utilising metering software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in network management.

* Monitor and report on missing or damaged assets within the network, ensuring readiness for client assessment of criticality.

* Develop comprehensive risk mitigation plans and method statements in adherence to client standards and regulations, providing valuable input for review by the Senior Team.

* Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders and clients through regular communication, both in person and via conference calls.

* Act as the primary liaison between Project Managers and Network Analysts, promoting efficiency, productivity, and knowledge sharing across teams.

* Plan and schedule project tasks to optimise field resources, ensuring alignment with key deadlines and reallocating resources as needed.

* Oversee project work and ensure compliance with Veriflo's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, conducting thorough briefings and maintaining comprehensive records.

* Provide field support as needed for project delivery, including tasks such as probes and large isolations, and conduct routine compliance audits to reassure clients.

* Actively participate in the Health and Safety committee and take responsibility for delivering HSEQ actions as required.

* Undertake Line Management responsibilities, including conducting annual and mid-year appraisals, and oversee project briefings, contingency planning, and creation of site-specific Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) for review.
