Manpower is currently recruiting for Waste Porters in a local hospital, the ideal candidate MUST drive for this position due to using the electric vehicle around the grounds. The hospital is collecting a combined figure of around 1300 tonnes a year of, clinical waste, offensive waste, general waste, recyclable waste and other waste streams. They recycle where they can, and take the business of managing waste on site very seriously; they cover 365 days of the year making sure the site is clear of waste working together with clinical and non-clinical colleagues. It is a physical and fast paced job, every day is different and presents new challenges.

Shift patterns can be flexible between 6am - 6pm, example of one of the set shift patterns - 6am-2pm, 7.00am-3pm, 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm.
£11.45 an hour
Waste Porter role, full time - 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday
MUST have a driving license for this roleMain duties of the job
Collection of clinical, domestic, recycling and other special waste items from wards and departments in line with the Trusts Policy and Procedures.
Segregation of all waste streams prior to collection by waste contractors.
The weighing and logging of clinical waste bins and electrical appliances.
Collection of soiled laundry from wards and departments for storage prior to collection by the laundry supplier.
To collect and deliver furniture and other equipment as required from corridors, wards and departments as detailed in job request sheets.Essential
Valid driving license.
Proven experience of working with the general public.Desirable
Recent experience of hospital waste disposal.
Recent experience or previous experience working with the public/ customer services
