Position: Warehouse Technical Specialist

Type: Fixed-term contract
Duration: July 2026 - 31 December 2026
Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible, Mon-Fri)
Location: Deeside, UK (on-site)

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a hands-on warehouse technical specialist to support a distribution facility preparing for SALSA Brokers, Storage & Distribution accreditation.

The site has already completed significant groundwork and now requires practical, on-site support to finalise documentation, ensure operational compliance, and prepare for a successful external audit in November 2026.

There is also potential for ongoing work beyond the contract to maintain SALSA standards following accreditation.

OBJECTIVE

To ensure the warehouse site is fully prepared, compliant, and audit-ready for SALSA BSD certification by November 2026.

The contractor will work closely with the operations manager to:

Close remaining documentation and compliance gaps
Prepare the site for external SALSA audit
Support internal audits and corrective actions
Ensure day-to-day warehouse compliance standards are maintainedKEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finalise warehouse compliance documentation and record systems
Support permit-to-work, inspections, and operational records
Maintain supplier approval records and basic risk assessments
Create/update product specification sheets for stored products
Run internal audits and track corrective actions
Support HACCP documentation and review meetings
Ensure cleaning, pest control, calibration, and temperature records are audit-ready
Support site readiness for SALSA audit and act as on-site contact during audit
Manage post-audit corrective actions through to closureIDEAL PROFILE

We are looking for someone with:

Experience in warehouse, storage, or distribution environments
Working knowledge of SALSA, BRC Storage & Distribution, or similar standards
Strong understanding of basic HACCP principles in a warehouse setting
Comfortable working in a hands-on, operational environment
Strong attention to detail with documentation and recordkeeping
