Warehouse Supervisor
Shepshed | Up to £35,000 per annum | Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 5:00pm
Are you an experienced warehouse professional with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach?
Our client, based in Shepshed, is looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join their team and take responsibility for the smooth, safe and efficient day-to-day running of the warehouse.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys leading a team, improving processes and ensuring high standards across warehouse operations.
The Role
As Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee the daily warehouse operation, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, packed and dispatched accurately and efficiently. You will lead and support the warehouse team, allocate workloads and help drive operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily warehouse activities including goods receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
Ensure stock is handled, stored and recorded accurately.
Allocate workloads and tasks effectively across the warehouse team.
Support stock control and inventory counting activities.
Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping.
Lead, motivate and support warehouse operatives.
Provide training, guidance and coaching to team members.
Monitor attendance, timekeeping and individual performance.
Conduct team briefings and communicate operational updates.
Promote a positive and collaborative working environment.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve warehouse processes and efficiency.
Ensure customer service and quality standards are consistently maintained.
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Carry out regular safety checks and report hazards promptly.
Promote safe working practices and correct use of PPE.
Assist with the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
Previous experience supervising or leading a team.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Experience using warehouse systems and Microsoft Office.
A positive, proactive and reliable approach.
Strong leadership and people-management skills.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and make effective decisions.
A commitment to health & safety, quality and continuous improvement.
A forklift licence would be desirable but is not essential.
