WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

Description:

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR to join the EVENING SHIFT team of a thriving IPSWICH based distribution business, part of a $billion Multinational.

Working 6pm to 2am, Monday to Friday nights the salary is anticipated to be in the region of £30,000 (negotiable with experience).

* The successful WAREHOUSE SUPERVSOR will be the Senior person on site during the evening shift and as such will be responsible for:

* Supervising a team of 10 skilled Operatives within a Warehouse / Yard environment

* Safe and proper use of diverse lifting equipment

* Best allocation of people and resources to achieve planned activity targets

* Adherence to Health & safety procedures and best practice

* Updating inventory records and associated documentation

* Facilitating smooth shift handovers

Your team will be primarily responsible for:

* Loading & unloading lorries

* Order picking and preparation

* Stock rotation

* General housekeeping

* Receiving & despatching containers

* Loading & unloading trailers

* Housekeeping within the warehouse & yard areas

For your application as the WAREHOSUE SUPERVISOR to be successful, your cv should highlight the following key skills and experience:

* Team management / supervision

* Experience gained in a warehouse, yard or transport type environment

* Understanding and application of Health & Safety policies and procedures

* Computer literate including bar code scanning technology

* Systems surrounding stock management, goods in & out, despatch etc

* Working to a strict daily plan or work schedule

* Fit and able to work in a drafty warehouse / outdoor transport yard environment

* Previous experience of using lifting equipment would be advantageous
