Description:

Warehouse Picker / Packer (228jc) – Twyford, Berkshire - £25 - £28k + Benefits + Career Development

Looking for your first civilian job after leaving the Armed Forces?

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

Not everyone leaves the military with a trade or a clear career path. If you're motivated, reliable and willing to learn, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

We are recruiting an enthusiastic Warehouse Picker / Packer to join a growing IT services organisation based in Twyford. This is an excellent first step into civilian employment, giving you the chance to learn how a busy warehouse and logistics operation works while opening the door to future opportunities within the IT industry.

No previous warehouse experience is required. We are looking for attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn.

The Role

Working within a friendly warehouse team, you'll be responsible for ensuring equipment is received, checked, stored and prepared for dispatch. You'll also assist with processing returned IT equipment and keeping stock organised.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same.

Typical duties include:

* Picking and packing customer orders

* Receiving deliveries and booking stock into the warehouse

* Checking returned equipment

* Preparing products for dispatch

* Organising warehouse stock

* Carrying out stock counts

* Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment

* Updating simple computer records

Who We're Looking For

This role would suit someone who:

* Has recently left the British Armed Forces

* Is looking for their first civilian role

* Enjoys practical, hands-on work

* Is reliable and organised

* Takes pride in doing a job properly

* Has basic computer skills

* Wants to develop a long-term career

Previous warehouse experience is not essential.

Why This Role?

This isn't simply a warehouse job.

It's an opportunity to join an established IT services business where many employees have progressed into more technical and customer-facing positions.

For someone leaving the military without a recognised civilian trade, this role provides:

* A stable first civilian career

* Full on-the-job training

* Experience within a growing IT business

* Opportunities to develop into technical, logistics or IT support roles

* Long-term career progression based on performance

We have placed a number of personnel in this role and they have all stepped up into more senior roles within the company in a very short space of time.

Salary & Benefits

* £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience for a 37 ½ hr week

* Full training provided

* Excellent career progression opportunities and onward training

* Friendly and supportive working environment

* Permanent full-time position

This role is ideal for someone who has left the forces with little or no idea of what they are looking for going forwards, but who have an interest and desire to entre the IT sector, as they will be able to offer roles into to this sector for the right individual.
