We at Team CV LTD are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Operative, for our client based in the East London area. Our Client is an industrial distribution company, which will require the candidate to lift and move large items.
Key information for Warehouse Operative Candidate:
Location: At Client Branch – East London.
Hours: Monday to Friday – 7:30am – 5pm, inclusive of an hour’s unpaid lunch break.
Nature of employment: This is a Part-Time, Temporary position. However, there are opportunities for the successful candidate to secure regular employment with this Client following the initial employment period of 3-4 months from your start date.
Salary: £11 per hour.
PLEASE NOTE: Successful Warehouse Operative candidates will need to ensure that they are dressed in the company’s uniform colours and safety uniform. Candidates will need to ensure that they are wearing a navy blue polo shirt, navy blue jeans or combat trousers and gloves (supplied by the client).
Key Responsibilities for the role of Warehouse Operative:
The key objective of the Warehouse Operative candidate is to ensure that the warehouse operations of the company run smoothly. The key responsibilities of the Warehouse Operative candidate for this client are:
Dealing with trade counter customers.
Good inwards.
Picking and packing.
Loading and offloading vehicles.
Assisting drivers with deliveries in the East London and Essex areas, including vehicle checks
Daily branch proposal and continuous stock taking.
Day-to-day administration.
Participation in the annual stock take.
Further responsibilities include:
* Providing accurate and regular order handling to help achieve minimum time delay between receipt of order and despatch of goods, therefore maximising sales/stock turnover.
* Resolving customer queries/warranty/credits/complaints to the satisfaction of all parties.
* Identifying and work with third party distribution providers, identify potential problems to ensure the smooth flow of orders and customer satisfaction.
* Maintaining close contact with customer service staff, understand their working practices and be proactive in preventing the occurrence of avoidable problems for our customers.
* Communicating enquires to the External Sales Engineers to enable maximisation of potential sales.
* Providing cover within the branch / trade counter, at which you are based during unplanned absences.
* Ensuring that the warehouse and trade counter support sales in achieving product sales / and market share in accordance with company objectives.
* Communicating effectively with the Branch Manager
* Acquiring and demonstrating the necessary selling skills, product knowledge and understanding of company policy to work effectively.
* Providing assistance and motivation to all colleagues when required.
* Working within Focus sales procedures in the branch environment.
* Working with the Branch Manager to ensure that customers’ required levels of service are being met.
* Ensuring that complaints, as they affect your direct responsibility, are promptly dealt with, in a professional manner.
* Maintaining company property to the required standard.
* Representing the company in a business-like manner and maintain a standard of dress and appearance in-keeping with the job and position within the company.
* Being prepared to assist with out-of-hours services to customers when the need arises.
* As an employee, you have a legal duty to take reasonable care of yourself and others and to co-operate with management on all aspects of health and safety, as set out in the Employee Safety Handbook.
* Ensuring familiarisation with data protection procedures set down by the organisation as a result of the GDPR and understand that any breach could result in the organisation’s sensitive and confidential data being disclosed to competitors and other interested parties.
* Any ad hoc duties as required by the Branch Manager or a Director.
Essential Qualities for the role of Warehouse Operative:
* To be able to lift up to 25kg unassisted.
* To be an effective communicator.
* To be personable and proactive in all interactions with customers and colleagues.
* To demonstrate effective selling skills, product knowledge and understanding of company policy required to work effectively on the trade counter.
