As a Warehouse General Manager, you'll be responsible for a vital part of the Business supply chain and warehousing THE COMPANY process. You'll manage a team of Shift Managers/Supervisors/Operators and a Driver, processes and systems to ensure freight shipments are received and dispatched appropriately and that productivity targets are met daily. You'll also be responsible for the workplace health and safety standards, risk assessments and the security of the building THE COMPANY and stock as admin, housekeeping THE COMPANY, training THE COMPANY, appraisals, and rosters ( WH rosters to be manned from 09:00h to 21:00h Monday to Sunday)

THE COMPANY is a neutral customs and logistics service provider operating THE COMPANY from a 15,000-square-foot facility. We tailor our services for Multi-Modal Import & Export, E-commerce Logistics, Excisable goods, B2B/B2C/C2C consignments, Reverse Logistics, and more. An HMRC Licenced warehouse like ours- is fully bonded by HMRC with numerous Customs Compliance Licences that require a hands-on, experienced person who has worked no less than 3 to 5 years in fully bonded and ETSF operator warehouses before that will be required to take ownership of the Warehouse Customs Compliance and handling THE COMPANY of THE COMPANY Import/Export multi-model freight (air, sea, road, rail) and Excise freight.

Role Objective:
This role requires a candidate with the ability and experience to organize and manage a team of warehouse temp staff and entry-level staff whilst ensuring THE COMPANY the business is fully compliant with its ETSF bonded area and HMRC Compliance and THE COMPANYT in-house operation procedures. This role will require the candidate to be involved in moving THE COMPANY sites from the Company's current premises 15,000 sqf warehouse to new premises (phone number removed) sqf warehouse nearby in late autumn Sept 2024, so previous experience is a plus for the candidate to have in moving THE COMPANY/opening THE COMPANY a new warehouse site in the past.

Implementing THE COMPANY new disciplines and setting THE COMPANY up new warehouse handling THE COMPANY procedures will be a key requirement of this role. Experience in working THE COMPANY in pressurized environments whilst still delivering THE COMPANY a first-class service to our customers and network will be key to ensuring THE COMPANY success in this role.
A successful track record of implementing THE COMPANY new procedures for the safe, efficient and economical movement of freight through a multi-channelled warehouse will be essential.
The successful candidate will be task-focused on delivering THE COMPANY exceptional service standards with minimal loss or damage to freight as it travels through our Warehouse. The ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders whilst engaging staff and peers are key attribute in this challenging OUR role.
With a development background allied to great people skills, the successful candidate will need to lead the warehouse operation through a change management phase whilst ensuring THE COMPANY service levels are maintained and improved.

Main Responsibilities & Experience

Responsible for all activities and administration of the warehouse team covering THE COMPANY rosters preps, appraisals, training THE COMPANY, disciplinaries, risk assessments, H&S and Fire procedures..

Conduct daily briefing THE COMPANYs and have clear communication with the team to ensure all staff are aware of their responsibilities and team goals daily.

Coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of the freight as per the standards set by the THE COMPANY Ltd Management in conjunction with the full HMRC Compliance and ETSF bond procedures.

In charge of doing THE COMPANY the ETSF bond checks – manage held shipments storage and release system established by the Company.

Use warehouse space and mechanical handling THE COMPANY equipment efficiently, making THE COMPANY sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met at all times and his team is trained to do the same.

Ability to implement, manage and measure the core activities of the warehouse department.

Have a clear understanding THE COMPANY of the THE COMPANYT Company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these and ensure the warehouse team deliver the highest performance based on these policies and values.

Manage and coordinate the use of automated and computerized THE COMPANYT in-house systems as external ones, to manage the workflow and accountability of the inbound and outbound freight.

Implement a vehicle booking THE COMPANY slots system for inbound/unloading THE COMPANY and outbound/loading THE COMPANYs to stagger the freight volumes and workflow during THE COMPANY the day and avoid backlogs and congestion.

The ability to be able to operate efficiently in a busy and pressurized environment.

Ensuring THE COMPANY all staff handle, label and manage all movements of freight within the warehouse in a safe and correct manner.

Identifying THE COMPANY opportunities within the department to reduce costs and add value to the operation.

Respond to and deal with customer communication by email and telephone.

Identifying THE COMPANY needs and establishing THE COMPANY client requirements as per projects managed by THE COMPANY.

Handle e-commerce freight with effective planning THE COMPANY and handling THE COMPANY.

Identifying THE COMPANY opportunities to improve the service levels in the warehouse and have the ability to rectify dropping THE COMPANY service levels and act on it.

Know Microsoft Office pack and be able to work with PowerPoint, Word and Excel to be able to manage workflows of freight moving THE COMPANY, create new procedures, standards templates and training THE COMPANY files

Knowledge of H&S legislation and proven record of efficient H&S Management.

Conduct departmental meeting THE COMPANYs the warehouse team.

Attend Senior Management meeting THE COMPANYs.

Be responsible for the Risk Assessments of the warehouse, train his team and keep those up-to-date.

Administration of all necessary warehouse records Company's in-house record system and management reports.

Have excellent time management and timekeeping THE COMPANY, and manage the WH team to do the same.

Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis about the performance of the warehouse.

Brief team leaders daily and ensure all tasks are completed and the warehouse operation is managed and overseen.

Create and oversee that Housekeeping THE COMPANY schedule to be executed daily and checklist completed.

Manage and deal with Customs Import/Export shipments and UK Border Force inspections.

Oversee the planned maintenance of the warehouse, company vehicles, machinery and equipment.

Developing THE COMPANY positive relationships with colleagues and team members and supporting THE COMPANY the UK Head of Operations in attaining THE COMPANY the business goals.

Promoting THE COMPANY and adhering THE COMPANY to good working THE COMPANY practices and procedures with particular reference to the Company's service standards.

Acting THE COMPANY responsibly towards colleagues and team members regarding THE COMPANY regulations and requirements with respect to Health and Safety and Aviation Security.

Maintaining THE COMPANY personal hygiene to a standard expected of yourself and your colleague's Corporate Identity – provide a suitable professional image by:

Information – providing THE COMPANY an efficient service and communication network (both internally and externally) by:

Occupational Attainment:
Driving THE COMPANY License (Cat C or above is preferred)

Shift work: This role may involve a weekend shift depending THE COMPANY on the Company's level of business work and arrangements. You will be given lieu days during THE COMPANY the week when the weekend shift is needed.

Salary: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year, depending THE COMPANY on experience
