Our fresh produce client is looking for a proactive and commercially minded Warehouse Shift Manager to take overall responsibility for warehouse operations, ensuring service levels are consistently achieved while maintaining control of costs, productivity and workforce performance.

This is a key leadership position within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, where you'll oversee warehouse management systems, staff scheduling, goods-in and goods-out operations, and the delivery of key performance indicators.

Working closely with the wider site management team, you'll play an important role in developing employees, improving processes and ensuring the warehouse operates safely, efficiently and in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations: Take overall responsibility for daily warehouse activities, ensuring operational targets, service level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs are consistently achieved.

People Management: Lead, motivate and develop the warehouse team, ensuring employees are supported, performance issues are addressed and responsibilities are clearly understood.

Workforce Planning: Manage staff scheduling and labour requirements using sales and intake forecasts, ensuring resources are aligned with operational demand.

Performance Management: Monitor warehouse productivity, workload efficiency and operational costs, identifying opportunities to improve performance and control expenditure.

Reporting & Analysis: Produce and analyse daily, weekly and monthly reports covering operational performance, finance, productivity and service levels.

Goods In & Goods Out: Oversee the accurate recording of incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring stock movements and arrival and departure times are correctly documented.

Stock & Storage Management: Maximise warehouse storage capacity, maintain accurate records and ensure stock is handled and stored appropriately.

What You'll Bring

Warehouse Management Experience: At least five years' experience within the warehouse industry, ideally in a supervisory or management capacity.

Industry Background: Previous experience in a fast-moving, customer-focused environment such as fresh produce, FMCG, food production or manufacturing.

Leadership Skills: Proven experience managing, coaching and developing teams within a multi-disciplinary operational environment.

Operational Expertise: A strong understanding of warehouse processes, goods-in and goods-out procedures, stock control and storage optimisation.

Performance Driven: A track record of delivering against operational plans, achieving KPIs and improving productivity.

Health & Safety Knowledge: An understanding of warehouse safety procedures, equipment maintenance, risk management and HACCP requirements.

Why Apply?

Leadership: Take ownership of a warehouse operation and lead a team towards achieving ambitious performance targets.

Operational Impact: Make a direct contribution to productivity, customer service, cost control and overall business performance.

Variety: Enjoy a broad management role covering people, planning, stock, equipment, compliance and continuous improvement.

If you're an experienced Warehouse Manager with strong leadership skills, a hands-on approach and a passion for operational excellence, we'd love to hear from you
