Warehouse Manager

Swindon

Salary is dependent on experience

Monday – Friday - 8.30am – 5.00pm

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Manager to join our busy client based in Swindon.

Main Duties

* Ensure compliance with company and statutory regulations for Health & Safety, Environment, Employment, Export, and promotion of and adherence to potential hazard reporting.

* Provision of leadership and development for the warehouse team and a contributing member of the management team

* Accountable for ensuring processes and people are proactively planned and aligned to support customer service level expectations by ensuring warehouse efficiency metrics are met along with customer sequence and consignment dates.

* Oversee the efficient receipt, storage and despatch of Goods. Ensuring that FIFO and batch traceability rules are adhered to.

* Recommendations for Business Process Improvement through recognised best practices and lean initiatives coupled with optimising efficiencies through the completion and analysis of Key Performance Indicators

* Challenge the business to work in a scalable way using robust, efficient processes as well as managing change.

* Communicate concisely and professionally whilst being open to challenges by other employees and teams where relevant.

* Collaborate across functions and departments to meet business and customer needs.

* First point of contact for outbound logistics providers, capital equipment, packaging and consumables and implement any approved cost reduction principles.

* Project Management relating to Warehouse/Logistic aspects of the business.

* Daily KPI production for team performance against business requirements

* Conduct annual appraisals, assess training needs, set and monitor team as well as individual objectives.

* Hold regular team briefings to communicate any improvement plans or issues within the warehouse and performance against productivity targets.

* Ensure that cyclic stock checks, customer returns and supplier rejects are completed on time and accurately as well as managing the aged inventory in collaboration with purchasing.

* Liaise with transport companies to resolve any issues that may arise.

* Ensure overtime levels are monitored and kept to reasonable levels to maintain customer service.

* Overseeing the planned maintenance of equipment/machinery

* Ad-hoc duties as required

Key Skills

* Strong leadership, motivational, influencing and people management skills with ability to manage, communicate and measure change.

* Innovative, creative and comfortable challenging the status quo.

* Experience in collaborating & working cross-functionally to achieve business objectives.

* Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple co-incidental tasks to tight deadlines with good attention to detail.

* Able to identify risk areas and proactively implement contingency programmes.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Confident and comfortable with numbers and data driven decision making

* Competent with IT systems and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and preferably PowerPoint.

Education and Experience

5+ years’ experience in managing warehouse operations

5+ years’ experience leading and developing teams.

Proven track record of identifying and implementing improvement initiatives

Education in administrative or business subject preferable.

Interconnect product experience is a plus.
