Day Shift Only - Monday to Friday

Please Note: Candidates MUST have a good understanding and experience in the use of Microsoft Packages - Word and Excel.

Experience using a Pallet Truck and Counterbalance FLT is also essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

As a Warehouse Assistant, your role will involve a variety of tasks to support the smooth operation of the warehouse. You will:

Compare identifying information, count, weigh, or measure items of outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy.
Determine the best shipping method, utilising various procedures, routes, and rates.
Assemble and select containers, carefully packing finished items with the necessary padding and spacers.
Secure containers using a strapping machine and apply identifying information and shipping instructions.
Post weights, shipping charges, and affix postage, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
Order packaging materials as needed to maintain stock levels.
Cover the day-to-day operations in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor.
Compare identifying information, count, weigh, or measure incoming items, keeping accurate records.
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items and rectifying any shortages.
Shelve and inventory parts accurately upon receipt and pull parts for work orders.
Route items to departments efficiently and perform daily stock counts to maintain inventory accuracy.Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately compare and count items.
Familiarity with various shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Ability to assemble and select containers and pack items for shipment securely.
Basic computer skills to post weights, charges, and affix postage.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
