Warehouse and Forklift Operative

Description:

Tennial Personnel are currently recruiting for a reliable and skilled Forklift and Warehouse Operative to join our Stowmarket based client on a full-time temporary basis for approximately 1–3 months.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established company at their new state-of-the-art warehouse in Stowmarket.

Shift Pattern:
• Monday to Friday
• Early shift: 6:00am – 3:30pm
• Late shift: 8:30am – 5:00pm
• 42.5 hours per week
• Includes one unpaid 1-hour lunch break and two paid 15-minute breaks
• Flexibility required – must be willing to stay late if necessary

The role involves operating Reach and Counterbalance forklifts, managing the loading and unloading of goods, picking and packing orders, and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment. Candidates must be proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Reach and Counterbalance forklifts for loading, unloading, and moving stock
• Pick, pack, palletise, and despatch goods
• Maintain forklift safety and carry out daily equipment checks
• Assist with general warehouse duties and facility upkeep
• Support other departments when required
• Open and secure the warehouse daily, including setting alarms and managing access
• Uphold health & safety standards and report any incidents or hazards promptly
• Provide cover in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor and maintain smooth operation

Skills Required

Previous experience in a warehouse environment

Good organisational and time management skills

Excellent communication (written and verbal)

Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks

Positive, team-oriented attitude

Qualifications Required
Valid Reach & Counterbalance Forklift Licences (in-date)

Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
