Ward Manager - Specialist Mental Health Hospital
Location: Garforth, Leeds
Salary: Up to £52,000 per annum
Are you an experienced RMN or Registered Mental Health Nurse looking for the opportunity to take the next step in your leadership career?
We are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Ward Manager to join a highly regarded specialist mental health hospital supporting women with complex and enduring mental health needs.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a ward within a specialist service that provides a genuinely varied and challenging clinical environment. The hospital delivers a full pathway of care, including low secure, high dependency/PICU and rehabilitation services, supporting women with complex mental health needs, including personality disorders and acute presentations.
As Ward Manager, you will play a key role in leading and developing your clinical team while ensuring the highest standards of patient care, clinical governance and operational performance. You will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on both patient outcomes and the development of your team.
The service is easily accessible from both the M1 and M62, making it conveniently located for candidates travelling from Leeds and the surrounding areas.
The Role
As Ward Manager, you will:
Lead the day-to-day running and clinical delivery of the ward
Provide strong clinical leadership and support to the multidisciplinary team
Ensure consistently high standards of patient care and safety
Manage staffing and support the ongoing development of the clinical team
Oversee clinical governance, audits, risk management and compliance
Mentor, supervise and develop nurses and support staff
Promote a positive culture of continuous improvement and high-quality care
What We're Looking For
To be considered, you will ideally have:
Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse, ideally an RMN
Previous experience in a senior clinical, leadership or supervisory position
Strong experience within mental health services
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
A genuine passion for developing teams and delivering outstanding patient care
