What you will be doing:

With experience in mental health settings across the NHS or private sector, you’ll lead the nursing team to deliver safe, structured and compassionate care within our 12‑bed CYPMHS service. You’ll champion high standards, support your colleagues, and cultivate a positive, learning‑focused environment.

As Ward Manager, you will:

Provide clinical leadership, expertise and direction across the ward

Offer guidance, supervision and coaching to build a unified, confident and engaged workforce

Ensure high standards of care are maintained and continuously improved within the Clinical Governance framework

Lead by example, acting as a role model for safe practice, professionalism and compassionate care

Manage ward budgets, staffing and resources effectively

Work alongside the Senior Nurse to support the on‑call service

Hold a key role within the MDT, acting as an expert resource in CMHS nursing

Maintain a collaborative, supportive environment where staff can reach their potential and deliver exceptional care

Take charge of the ward as the designated clinical leader

Your leadership will empower recovery, strengthen team culture and help shape a service where young people feel safe, understood and supported.

Things that you will have:

A relevant nursing qualification

NMC registration

Experience within mental health settings

A positive, compassionate and values‑led approach

A commitment to high‑quality, evidence‑based care

Experience in a similar environment or senior nursing role

A proven track record of effective leadership

Location: Bere Clinic , Hemlock Road, Waterlooville, PO8 8QT

12 bed CYPMHS service to support young people aged 12-18 with eating disorders. With an onsite school providing educational services while the young people are in our care and full multidisciplinary team, it’s a great opportunity to be part of something new and help shape its future.
